Langosteria: A Culinary Overture Of Heritage And Dreams

In moments of introspection and self-discovery, we often turn to our roots as a compass to explain the complexity of our actions. Our roots offer narratives of resilience, perseverance and collective identity, instilling values that shape our identity. When facing challenges or seeking purpose, we often draw upon the lessons embedded in our cultural or familial heritage. Through this connection, our past becomes our motivation, empowering us to navigate the present with a deep-seated understanding of who we are and the legacy we carry forward.

Enrico Buonocore discovered the inspiration for Langosteria, the newly recommended Italian dining experience in the 2023 Michelin Guide, right at the heart of his roots on the Amalfi Coast. Amidst the flavors of fresh bread, butter, anchovies, and the ubiquitous lemons of the region, he found a source of creativity in the simplicity and freshness of these culinary elements. Enrico’s vision for Langosteria is deeply rooted in the authentic tastes of his upbringing, reflecting a commitment to genuine experiences over superficial appearances. Emphasizing the essence of “being, not appearing,” Enrico, as an entrepreneur, channels this philosophy to perceive the dining world through the eyes of the customer, ensuring that every aspect of Langosteria resonates with authenticity and simplicity.

Established in Milan in 2007, Langosteria has evolved into a culinary delight that extends its offerings beyond Milan, with locations in Paris, the picturesque Paraggi bay in Portofino, and the terrace overlooking the Corviglia slopes in St. Moritz. London is the upcoming destination, marking a realized dream for its founder, Buonocore.

Each dish at Langosteria brings the depth of the sea to the table while prioritizing excellence, authenticity, and rhythm through careful ingredient selection. Executive Chef Domenico Magistri, a passionate maestro, crafts rich and consistent dishes, with the Catalan King Crab standing as Langosteria’s ultimate signature. Kings’ seven-ingredient sauce imparts a unique flavor, complementing historical vegetables like camone tomato, celery, and crunchy red onion. While we also had to absolutely try the oyster bar – plateau langosteria, the gazpacho with roasted langoustines, and since in Italy do as the Italians do, the smoked spaghetti and spiny lobsters complemented by the Amalfi lemon. Notably, the desserts receive special attention, a detail that distinguishes a truly exceptional restaurant.

As for the wine, the esteemed companion to Langosteria’s delectable dishes, Langosteria takes you on a journey to discover the history of Burgundy by revealing the 280 labels of Champagne in via Savona. Awarded by Wine Spectator, the Langosteria cellar is a magical place with infinite stories collected, because every wine has a story within.

Langosteria not only tantalizes the taste buds but also narrates tales of heritage and innovation. Buonocore’s dream becomes a shared experience, where every plate and glass tells a story, a testament to the profound impact of our roots on the journeys we embark upon.
