The Cool, The Fashionable, The Talented
The cool
I am not one with a good memory, nor do I remember much from my childhood. However, there is one episode that has stuck in my memory. Circa 2005, the radio was playing this one song “Zonja Dhe Zotërinj” and it was the track, the lyrics, the energy and the way it was being sung that gave all the good vibes. That’s when I realised that Besa Kokëdhima is really the coolest. Actually, her singing career has officially began in 2002 in “Mikrofoni i Artë” as a special guest and following the next year, she and Produkt 28 competed with “Me Beso” song and won the first place. We millenials have danced with the “Folie” song, which is still a hit and it’s still danced in the clubs with much nostalgia. Song after song, price after price, Besa always knew how to make hits. And if her status requests for a heartfelt humanitarian gesture, Besa is there, showing what a true artist she is.
The fashionable
Dramatic looks, bold colours, different materials and patterns, always accessorized, Besa knows how to be playful and fashionable through her looks. With a great love for fashion, she has never had a bad appearance. Whether the song requested for a casual look, for a long chic dress or for leather, Besa delivers. Not by accident was she chosen by Vanity Fair Italy as the best dressed of Eurovision 2nd night, where she looked mesmerizing in the “aqua” look. In Valdrin Sahiti dress made for La fille des ondes, Henri Gjata makeup, hairstyle by Flori, Besa was incredible. We at Stylisphere loved the continuesness of the dress with the hair piece and the gloves part. But Besa also had great appearances in the red carpet, and in song presentations through Europe. Even when her luggage goes missing and she has to put a last-minute look.
The talented
Raised by two parents in the business field, it was expected that she would follow their path too. But Besa stayed true to herself and to her talent. She always believed in what she was able to give to the music world and never gave up. Starting with piano lessons, Besa always knew that it is music where she belongs. Besa considers music to be her life and she wants to share it with the world. Through her unique voice and emotional performances she is doing it in the best possible way. Eurovision did not qualify her at the finals, but while winning is often seen as the ultimate goal, it’s not always the most important aspect. The journey, growth, and experiences gained along the way hold immense value. Competing provides opportunities to learn new skills, meet diverse people, and push personal boundaries. In Eurovision Besa strived for excellence and the personal development that occured defined her success. We as a public will be here to applause her in other festivals.
