Beyond Luxury Boutique Hotel: Grasping the meaning of "Going Beyond" in Hospitality
According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, once basic physiological and safety needs are met, individuals seek higher-order psychological ones, like self-actualization and self-transcendence. As the traditional concept of luxury often addresses the lower tiers of Maslow’s hierarchy, ensuring guests have their physical comfort and safety needs met, going beyond luxury means engaging with the higher tiers, offering experiences that nurture emotional well-being, and cultivate a sense of belonging and purpose. Beyond Luxury Hotel embodies this philosophy by offering an experience that prioritizes meaningful experience, mindfulness and calmness. This is why it was Stylisphere’s first choice to start summer in the South of Albania, and today, we are here to spill the tea of all our impressions and thoughts.
First impression
Beyond Luxury Hotel is a boutique hotel, which allows for the experience to be more private. Located in Dhërmi, it features one of the most intimate bays.
In a stone and marble exterior, the hotel becomes one with the hill, creating a natural flow with the bay. In front of it are the restaurant and the bar, designed in modern Balinese style, giving a more summerish vibe. The interior, with a design towards minimalism, makes the boutique hotel feel more comfortable and clean. What we loved from the hall was the front door facing the sea, and the artwork from Eltjon Valle, as if entering a mini art gallery. But as for the cleaness, you could also tell that special attention was given from the always at service automated cleaning robot. What a relief it was for our allergic staff member! While nothing beats home, Beyond Luxury was not far from the home feeling. The recepsionist was very careful to make us feel welcomed, giving all the details we could need without much complication. And from there, the same welcomeness was felt from all the staff.
Once we were accomodated
The room was spacious, with calm colours. The lighting, and curtain is automated, so if you want to look at the sea once you wake up, you can do it without having to leave the bed. As comfortable as it was, believe us you won’t even want to leave at all. But the view is all worth it. All rooms are facing the sea, for the magical moment of sunrise and the romantic one of the sunset. If you want a more exclusive experience you can book from the rooms with an infinite pool and enjoy the time alone with you sweetheart. The boutique hotel however, is adults only so no kids will be at the beach. We decided to go to the beach immeditely, even though the sun was not promising. The staff accompanied us to our sunbeds and made sure we were feeling comfortable.
The restaurant and the club
We had lunch with the best view at the restaurant. All the dishes were with fresh ingredients. We would recommend you try the shrimp saganaki and the bass fillet. The Chef was careful and polite to give suggestions and the waiters always at service to give you the best experience. How humble does it make a Chef to show you some of his love and passion for cooking! Breakfast is included in the room’s price and is served in the same place. Don’t expect an open bufet, but let us tell you that you will be more satisfied than with an opened one. All kinds of jams, fruits, pies or croissant are served in bowls. A very instagramable setting.
The Flow Beach Club is a must stop party destination for your summer vacation. Cool music, the hottest DJs, cool people, and the coolest moon for your instagram picture. One can easily compare it with a club in Mykonos or Ibiza.
At the end of your experience you will very easily feel how the Beyond Luxury Boutique Hotel really went beyond, as you will feel more calmed and with positive energy than ever.
