Maison Margiela by John Galliano

The fashion show that made everyone cry

Haute Couture – the crème de la crème of the fashion world, the time in the fashion industry when designers can let their imagination spread its wings. Because during Haute Couture week, there are no limits or borders.
While there were many fashion houses, such as Chanel, that were repetitive in their creations, there were others that presented theatrical shows—very poetic, very heartfelt, very daring.
At the end of Haute Couture week in Paris, Maison Margiela Couture by John Galliano delivered the show of the decade—the extraordinary, the “I wish I was there!” moment—the Maison Margiela Artisanal Show 2024 by John Galliano.
Set under Pont Alexandre III, in the light of the first full moon of the year, Creative Director John Galliano captures a moment in time: a walk through the underbelly of Paris, offline. Each creation draws inspiration from the simple act of getting dressed—a composition of the self, an expression of individuality, a celebration of human nature. Bodies transformed to match the characters, light fabrics with waists reminiscent of the Belle Époque, and not to forget the very talented Pat McGrath’s makeup. Guests saw themselves through each creation, feeling their spirit on the runway—a mirror of their emotions.
While guests couldn’t help but be in tears, John Galliano, with his artistry, made history by changing the course of the fashion industry.
