Stylisphere's rechargable and tasty lunch at Fustanella Farm

A Refreshing Retreat Near Tirana

There are days, when you feel like you are the only one stucked in Tirana, there is a place you can escape, only 20 minutes from the city center, covered with nature and history: Fustanella Farm. Stylisphere was there last week and had the most recharging lunch.

The restaurant offers that cozy, afternoons-in-the-village vibe, with the smell of the nature’s air and of the cooked food. Everything is locally grown and you can feel that each ingredient is fresh and seasonal. The menu is based directly on the products from the farm and that of farmers and breeders surrounding the guesthouse. You are safe to say that you are having some quality food that it’s hard to find everywhere.

The menu consists on Mediterranean and Balkan cuisine re-interpreted with a modern twist; as for example the artisanal home cheese on cherry jam and kadayif which tastes were balanced very well together, the yummy humus with chickpeas, and the pie, just in case you are missing your grandma’s one. If there is Balkan cuisine, there is bread and meat. At Fustanella you will find bread made of wheat flour, wild blueberries and different seeds. As for the meat, we had the Kid meat served with baked patatoes on the side. It was cooked in a perfect way and the tenderness of the meat had remained.

After the lunch you can enjoy a stroll in the village. Petrela Castle is located only hundreds of meters away. To the southeast lies the grand tomb of the ancient Illyrian settlement of Persqop, followed by the walls and the settlement itself a bit farther. Surrounding this area are abundant natural wonders, from the Black Cave in the village of Pëllumbasi to the Syri Ciklopit waterfall near Krraba, and further on, the serene lake of Farka. To capture the essence of Fustanella, indulge in shopping for locally grown products and take something from it with you.

There is nowhere you can recharge better than in the nature and if it reminds you those lunches at you grandmother, those afternoons in the village and if it includes some history to explore, the place is a must-visit. And at Fustanella Farm you will have that unforgettable escape.
