Suonare Stella’s Kaleidoscope of Colors
In a world often dominated by monotony, the importance of vibrant colors lies not just in the aesthetics but in their ability to color our perceptions, influencing our mood and connecting us to both the outside world and our inner feelings.
While most influencers are embracing minimalism, Paolo Stella wanted to go beyond and experiment a little. In order for his house to stand out, he approached Alberto Caliri, creative director of the Missoni Home collection with a clear challange; to go wild with the use of different colors. They felt the sinergy immediately while working on the Missoni x Suonare Stella installation on Paolo’s house. The synergy rises from Stella’s love for the brand, but is complemented by Caliri’s creativity and his open-mindedness. As Paolo Stella states, he has rarely worked in such a courageous and innovative way.
From the first idea of “the box” with a completely black bow window including black floor that delimits the area, the black carpet and a large custom-made marble table; where you feel like floating in space, the project resulted in a more complex one.
The living area comes alive with the dominant electric blue of the Tektonik collection. The luxurious velvet elements effortlessly adapt to the space, offering maximum flexibility. Enhancing the ambiance are tables, poufs, fabrics, cushions, and the wallpaper collaboration with Jannelli & Volpi, featuring the new Nastri decoration.
While stepping into the dining area, a cozy black and white lounge awaits, set against a spacious red carpet and facing a welcoming dining table—a perfect spot for moments of relaxation with friends. A festive touch is added by a dazzling Christmas tree adorned with decorations wrapped in Missoni fabrics, featuring some pieces from Luca Missoni’s archive, alongside charming handmade puppets.
The lighting itself was crafted with precision. “We aimed to illuminate certain points to highlight the furnishings or specific areas like the columns in the bow window,” notes Alberto. It’s a deliberate interplay of light and shadow, intending to evoke a dynamic sense throughout the space.
«When I met Paolo, I understood that I could dare and create an environment with a strong character, allowing me to best express my creativity», shares Alberto for Ad Italia. «For me, the concept behind Suonare Stella is to talk about design outside of showrooms , in a lived art form. It is therefore essential that we must live around furniture, and not just talk about its perfection. It also happens to me that every time the house is revolutionized, I experience it differently. The environments take on a new perspective”, continues Paolo.
Alberto’s revelation captures the essence of the project—embracing daring creativity to shape an environment with character. As Suonare Stella project transforms the house, each revolution gives a new perspective of colors, inviting us to experience design beyond conventional boundaries.
