Dining with celebrities at Il Vero Alfredo

When in Italy do as the Italians do, therefore pasta should be the main topic. Now during our trip to Rome we had to try the most famous pasta in the world, the fettuccine Alfredo in the “Il vero Alfredo” restaurant and let us tell you it was a whole experience. You know why?

• A restaurant with 116 years of history

On February 7, America celebrates “National Fettuccine Alfredo Day”, but the real recipe was born in Rome. All the fame began with the birth of Alfredo II, leaving the exhausted wife, Ines, in need of nourishment. Her husband, concerned for her well-being, prepared a dish of fettuccine Alfredo, which later became renowned worldwide. Ines not only enjoyed the dish but also suggested adding it to their restaurant’s menu. This marked the beginning of Alfredo’s journey to international fame, as his dedication and enthusiasm attracted customers from around the globe. From father to son, from son to grandson, the Alfredo family became a real dynasty.

• In a room filled with characters

Generation from generation, walls filled with photos of famous people that had dined there like Bush, Frank Sinatra, Stalone, Sophia Loren, or Walt Disney and the family. They even got an appreciation letter from George Bush himself. Feeling like celebrities, there we were, as if we were dining with them.

• A whole fun vibe

The fulcrum of the Roman Dolce Vita. Good food, good wine and a good laugh to make the experience unforgetable. From the moment guests step inside, they are enveloped in the welcoming atmosphere, smily faces and a lot of jokes because life should be celebrated.
