Al Lago Restaurant

The Serenity You Didn’t Know You Needed

As though you’re immersed in the lake itself, the dining at Al Lago Restaurant at Il Sereno Hotel is an experience; luxurious, yet deeply connected to the picturesque setting of Lake Como. With the dining area to overlook the lake, we had dinner with the best view and every bite tasted twice as delightful.

Architect Patricia Urquiola’s design achieves the blend by incorporating expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that seamlessly merge the interior with the exterior landscape. The design also utilizes materials and colors that reflect the serene surroundings, such as warm woods and neutral tones, ensuring that the restaurant blends harmoniously with its environment.

As part of Il Sereno hotel and led by chef Raffaele Lenzi, the restaurant has achieved a prestigious Michelin Star. Chef Lenzi’s culinary philosophy centers on showcasing the essence of raw ingredients. His cuisine takes inspiration from his Italian heritage, offering an experiential journey that transforms into a gastronomic adventure. Vegetables play a key role, harmoniously blending diverse flavors and cultures. The restaurant even has a vegeterian tasting menu; the “Vegetables, Tubers, and Roots” which requires 48 hours advance booking and is designed for the entire table. There are also two other tasting menus “Homage to Tradition,” a five-course menu that revisits key elements of the gastronomic culture with a modern twist, and another one showcasing classic Lombard flavors alongside contemporary recipes.

We ofcourse went for the “Homage to Tradition” tasting menu and it felt so familiar, as a home feeling. Everything was fresh, the pasta was creamy and the meat was greately cooked.

The wine menu was impressive. The list of red wines was rich and included important wines such as Sassicaia, Tignanello, Massetto, and Brunello Biondi Santi, featuring impressive verticals

All in all, it was a true Michelin Star experience.
