Toys for Adults

GCDS Knows How to Play

Guliano and Giordano Calza sure know how to play. At the Fall/Winter Fashion Show 2024 of GCDS they showed us what the real game is, through the “Toys for Adults” collection. When we first heard about the name of the collection, we immediately linked our thoughts with what is really known as toys for adults. We bet you are thinking that too. But GCDS proved that we are just dirty-minders, because the collection is far from it. All GCDS wanted was to bring back our childhood memories, through our beloved items, the toys.

Both Guliano and Giordano returned in Milan Fashion Week to give a message that fun is not reserved only for kids. Guliano remembers when he was a kid and would ask his father “to bring something beautiful” anytime he would go on a business trip. He took inspiration from these memories and from the horror movies which he loved. Each creation has been given life from the idea that world should stay young and fun forever and the whole collection was all about the fun, young spirit and excitement.

The collection explores our adolescent memories, whether attending prom, going on the first date, or going to the cinema for that horror movie. The show opened in all-sheer looks and ruffled ornamentation offering a sense of purity and innocence. While the oversized coats, flower details and sequin skirts created the ready-for-fun idea.

The highlight of the collection was the collaboration with “Hello Kitty” an iconic childhood symbol. With Calza’s love for horror movies, references to horror classics such as Chucky and Dracula with tops or “bloody” bottoms couldn’t have been missed.

The collection boasts several attention-grabbing shoe designs, such as the avant-garde “Morso” pumps, featuring heels resembling a snarling jaw with sharp, monster-like teeth. Additionally, it offers other styles like strappy square-toe heels, glossy red knee-high boots, and sporty trainers.

Yes GCDS, we are ready to play!
