Loro Piana's Pop-up Elegance

A pop-up store in Zermatt inspired by Mongolian culture

There is a complexity and elegance in the natural order. Also known as the perfection in nature, it is rooted in the idea that natural processes and forms exhibit inherent beauty and flawless design. The symmetry of snowflakes, the intricate patterns on butterfly wings, the Fibonacci sequence seen in sunflower seed arrangements, and the harmonious relationships within ecosystems where each species plays a unique role, are some examples that highlight the complexity and elegance found in the natural order.

For 6 generations, Loro Piana has been inspired by this perfection. With a great desire for excellence, they are always seeking nature’s gifts by searching the rarest and most precious raw materials in the most remote places in the world. Whether it’s the softness of cashmere or the finesse of vicuña wool, Loro Piana seeks to capture the essence of these elements in their designs.

There was no other way for a brand inspired by nature, but to open their first pop-up store in the middle of nature, in the charming mountain village of Zermatt. Right in the heart of the Swiss Alps, Zermatt is famous for its breathtaking views of the iconic Matterhorn.

The store is inspired by the Mongolian culture, and the architecture of the pop-up store resambles that of a Ger. A Ger, also known as a yurt, holds profound significance as a traditional nomadic dwelling. Resembling a circular, portable tent, the Ger serves as a symbol of mobility and adaptability for the Mongolian nomads who traverse the vast steppes. Embracing the aesthetics of a Ger, the structure combines the warmth of natural materials with a touch of rustic elegance. The peaked roof, reminiscent of a Ger’s distinctive design, adds a unique character to the store, creating a sense of shelter and intimacy, while the wooden beams evoke a cozy alpine atmosphere. The pop-up store features an outdoor lounge area equipped with Loro Piana blankets to keep guests warm. Inside, the beige and white colors of the cashmere from the holiday collection prevail. For those passionate about skiing, a ski capsule collection is available also.

The pop-up store will stay opened until March 15, 2024 and if you happen to be in Zermatt during this period, Stylisphere highly recommends a stop by Loro Piana, for the true experience of elegance in the Alps.
